Ashvani Mahabir is a distinguished attorney with extensive experience. He was admitted to practice law in Trinidad since October 2000. His core legal interests and areas of expertise include industrial relations and employment law, conveyancing and corporate governance. As a former member of the Senate of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Mahabir developed significant proficiency in researching and analysing bills presented to parliament. He is also recognised for his debating skills and his exceptional research and analytical abilities, which make him highly effective in reviewing and recommending legislative changes. In addition, Mr. Mahabir has deep expertise in industrial relations and has appeared before the Industrial Court in Trinidad, representing both employers and employees in employment matters.

Mr. Mahabir holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in History from the University of the West Indies, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Honours) degree from the University of London, and a Legal Education Certificate from the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School. He also earned a master’s degree in mass communications from the University of Leicester.

Mr Ramkissoon was appointed as a member of the Police Service Commission and served as Counsel in the Office of The Integrity Commission positions that have enforced his skills in public law.
